Faith Development

Ignite Wednesday Night Small Groups 

Ignite your relationship with your family, with God, and with others.  For six Wednesday evenings in the fall and again in the spring, come to a community dinner from 6:00 to 6:30pm then join a small group from 6:30 to 7:30 to explore of topic of interest.  This year's topics have included:  Imperfect Parenting in an Imperfect World, 5 Love Languages for Children, Hot Button Election Issues, Art and Spirituality, Spiritual Expression through Color, Uncommon Marriage, Freedom of Simplicity, Acoustic Gospel, and Hidden in the Hymns. Preschool through high school-aged kids participate in Shine: Teens & Kids. This fall, they are preparing for the Christmas program, working on props, rehearsing lines and music, and having fun!  In the spring, kids participate in the inspirational Lenten series while teens join in confirmation activities.

Register your child for IGNITE 

Centered: A discussion based Bible study for young adults and parents of young children.

Centered offers young adults and parents of young children the opportunity to center around Christ between weekly worship services and to discuss the sermons deeper in order to grow in faith.  They meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of every month at 7:00pm in the Youth Room, September through May. The Centered group plans social events occasionally outside that time frame. For more information, contact Jen Springer (jen@trinitylincoln.org).

Thursday Morning Bible Study

Looking for mid week inspiration?  Trinity's Morning Bible Study meets the 2nd and 4th Thursday mornings at 10:00am in room 213.  This small, informal group is full of great topical discussion.  Please contact Arlys Eddy for more information at bandaeddy@windstream.net

Youth Group

Youth Group focuses on helping students (grades 6-12) understand this crazy thing called life and how their relationship with God gives them hope.  The goal of Youth Ministry is to create safe and meaningful opportunities where students can develop with God, grow in discipleship to Christ, and serve others. Our Youth Group strives to incorporate good news (worship and faith development), good works (works of mercy and justice) and good times (fellowship) in all that we do!  Contact Tommi Cox at tommi@trinitylincoln.org.

 

 

Social, Athletic, and Fellowship Groups

MOMs Group (Moms Offering Moms Support)

The baby is crying, the sink is full of dishes, the dog needs a walk, and cable tv is on the phone trying to talk you into an upgrade!  Get off the rollercoaster for a brief moment and join other moms for  great activities, fellowship, and lots of laughter.

The MOMs group is a fun, social support group where young mothers share joys and struggles, give and receive advice, and grow in their faith.   Activities include going out to eat, bowling, date nights, Easter egg hunts, family movie nights, girls night out and much, much more!  Email Jen Springer (jen@trinitylincoln.org) for more information.

 

Pick-Up Basketball! 
Come and shoot hoops every Thursday at 8:00pm in Spirit Hall!  Park in the east lot and come up the stairs to Spirit Hall and you'll find a great group of guys playing half-court basketball.  Join in the fun and fellowship! If you have questions please contact Michael at michael@trinitylincoln.org

Young Dads Group

Trinity is committed to bringing together a group of young men who are striving to be successful, nurturing Dads. Join this group twice a month--once a month for fun and fellowship and once a month for discussion, study, and digging into one’s faith and spiritual development.  Contact Michael Tully (michael@trinitylincoln.org) for information on upcoming activities.

 Village People

A fellowship group for the empty-nester age group (singles and couples welcome!), the Village People take field trips, host football parties, and all-around have a good time! Events have included a pot luck bbq, country outings, service projects, game night, a progressive dinner, and the first Friday Art Walk.  For more information on how to get involved, contact Jill Ricketts (jill@trinitylincoln.org) at the Trinity church office.

Saturday Morning Book Club

Trinity's Book Club meets the third Saturday of each month from 9:00 to 10:45am at Braeda at 33rd and Pioneers.  Open to all, the group selects a book each month for discussion.  For this year's book list, contact Susan Harris (CHARRIS4@neb.rr.com).

Grief Support Group

We're here to help when grieving the death of a loved one; whether it's a spouse, child, parent,sibling,relative,coworker, or friend. If you need a shoulder to lean on, a hug, emotional support, or just need to talk, please join us on the third Thursday of the month at 7:00pm at at the Eatery in Van Dorn Plaza.

Alzheimer's and Related Disorders Support Group

This group provides discussion and support for those with family members or close friends who have Alzheimer's or related disorders.  The group meets monthly.  For more information contact Ted Simonson (t1simonson@aol.com).

Triniteers

Love, Faith, and a Little Laughter... An organization open to all women in the church, our purpose is to promote fellowship. We meet the second Monday of the months of April through November. We start at noon for lunch followed by a short meeting and a program.  Topics for programs have included, "Stress Busters," "Labryinths," "Old Dogs. New Tricks," and presentations by members on mission trips to Africa, and music by the Director of Music, Michael Tully.  For more information please contact us at triniteers@trinitylincoln.org

 Young-at-Heart

A fellowship group of people 60 or better who meet regularly to renew and strengthen friendships and develop new friendships.  Young-at-Heart provides education, information, and entertainment.  Past events have included lunch after the 10:30am worship service, day outings to Lake Waconda, band concerts at Antelope Park, and a variety of guest speakers.  To get involved, contact us at youngatheart@trinitylincoln.org.

 

Trinity Villagers

Trinity Villagers is a men's group that meets at 8:30 a.m. on the first Saturday of the month at Trinity for breakfast, fellowship and a program.  All men of the church are welcome.  Our purpose is to provide social and spiritual relationships with work opportunities to benefit church and community. United Methodist Women

The organzed unit of United Methodist Women is a community of women whose purpose is: to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.There are various "circles" of women, which meet on a monthly basis for business and social activities.  To get involved contact us at umw@trinitylincoln.org

* UMW Harmony Circle is made up of women in their 60's who meet the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 9:30 for breakfast provided by the hostess and discussion from the UMW program book or a topic of the hostesses choice.

* UMW Symphony Circle is made up of women ages 40's to 60's who meet in the evenings, the 2nd Tuesday of the month for fellowship, mission work and support for each other.  We serve a meal at The Gathering Place twice a year and have pledged to look after church members who need attention either because of illness or age.

* UMW Agape Circle is comprised of women of all ages who meet the 2nd Monday of the month at 7:00pm in one of the members homes. In May they celebrate with dinner out on the town, and in November they support the UMW Turkey Dinner Fundraiser. Agape circle follows the UMW mission and helps to raise funds for the mission pledge of $7,500.00

Sunday Morning Adult Ministry

Questers

Questers is a long standing group, comprised mainly of seniors, on a quest for greater understanding of the Bible and it's meaning for faithful living in today's world.  Discussions revolve around major characters, exploration and discussion of theological and social issues.  Questers meet every Sunday at 9:00am and gather monthly for a fellowship lunch at The Eatery. Seekers

Are you looking to explore and grow your faith among supportive friends seeking to become more effective disciples? We offer: short term studies, a wide variety of topics, stimulating discussions, and opportunities to lead. Discover Trinity

Discover Trinity is a 3 week study designed for prospective members of our church. Come learn what Trinity is about and how you can become connected to the Trinity community. This class discusses the Methodist Social Principles, what it means to be a United Methodist, and how your talents and treasures can enrich the Trinity community.  For more information please contact Jen Spring (jill@trinitylincoln.org).

 

Chancel Choir

Do you sing in other places than the shower and the car?  Chancel Choir might be the place for you.

Chancel Choir performs every Sunday at the 10:30 service from August to May, and practices every Wednesday evening from 7:30 to 8:30pm. Use your skills, talents, and abilities to make a joyful noise to the lord!  Have questions?  Contact Choir Director, Michael Tully, at michael@trinitylincoln.org aces besides your car or shower?  If so then Choir just might be the place for you!  Chancel Choir has an open door policy- all are welcome. 

Bell Choir

Bell Choir meets every Wednesday from August through May in the lower level of Trinity UMC from 6:00 to 7:30pm to rehearse, and performs once a month at the 10:30 service.  For more information please contact the church office.

Children's Music


The Children's Music program is part of the Sunday School curriculm. Director of Music Ministries, Dr. Michael Tully along side of support volunteers prepare the children for special performances and have singing each week.

 

 

 

 

Sunday Morning Children's Ministry:

Nursery - located in our wonderful Children’s Ministry area on the lower level, our nursery is appropriate for children up to three years of age during both worship services.

Preschool Friends—(3 to 5 year olds) are invited to join us at Sunday School during both services for music and plenty of hands-on learning activities! If families choose, there are structured play and enrichment activities available on the lower level in Room 101/102.

Sunday School— (K thru 5) During the 9:00 worship we provide large group music and Bible story adventures and small group crafts, games and activities to reinforce the Bible point for the day.
